BBQ

Today I am off to a friend’s house for a BBQ.
He has this BBQ every year at his house. He lives in a terrace house with a very small back yard but it is big enough for a gas fired BBQ.
For some reason we are meeting in a local pub before walking over the river to where he lives. We are meeting at 5pm which for us lot is quite late. We normally start earlier 2pm ish. But the decking at my friends house is being treated today so we do not slip over and will not be ready.
Any way I am sure we will have a great evening.

BBQ is what would be described as a niche. No doubt you have heard this word a lot as you travel the universe of the Internet.
BBQ is a quite a large Niche as it contains all sorts of related products. A smaller Niche would be BBQ grills.
The point of explaining this is I am asking if anyone out there has made any money from Niche marketing.

I have a little and it’s something I am interested in developing.

I have bought the following program Build a Niche Store (More details here). The appealing interest here is that you have this program to install which is not difficult. You select the niche you want on your site choose the country and presto one niche site full of products relating to your niche.
All the products are listed on EBay and because you site specializes in whatever then people will find your site and if you have listed the pages correctly hopefully you will get a sale and therefore a cut of EBay’s commission. Plus if they open an account with Ebay you get I think I m right in saying $12 (£8 approx).

Last Night

I am a naughty boy because I did not write anything on this Blog yesterday and I am supposed to every day until my next lesson. I do have an excellant excuse though.
I was out.  Yes with the boys, as we do every now and again. Nothing too much just a couple of beers and a chat about every thing from putting the world to right to teasing  me making money on the internet.
Ok so what have I learnt so far. Well I bought my name as a domain name. I dont know why yet apart from blogging but its part of the course. For those who have never done this before. Well let me tell you now its more difficult to fall off your chair then it is to registar a domain name.
Inccedently have you ever played around to see if a domin name is available?
It can be fun if you wish to spend just a few minutes while you wait for the kettle to boil.
Just go here and put in something you fancy. Now all the obvious names have gone and you cant have a name with a trade name in it. For example fizzdrink would be ok if its avaiable but cocacolafizzdrink is not allowed.  More info here.
I also had to set up this word press blog and again very easey.
So apart from wrighting a blog every day untill the next lesson I have done everything I have been asked to do.
John Thornhill is the guy I am dealing with. He is the one who was working in the car factory and over a couple of years gave it up to work full time on the internet.

Hi, to all those who have decided to read this Blog on its debut.
The reason I set this up is for two reasons.
1   I have been thinking about this for some time and as usual when something new comes along and looks complicated you put it off until tomorrow.
2   I have started a course that requires for me to have a blog.
What sort of course you ask. Well a guy I have known for some time on the net decided to help a number of people make a living on the internet.
No, it’s not one of those “make a million dollars tomorrow and I’ll show you how after you have paid me $100s.” schemes.
No, this guy is genuine. How do I know this?
Well I reckon someone who shows you his Ebay ID, shows you where he lives, and gives you his address and is recommended by many, many people has to be fairly straight.
Any way I thought I would give him a go.
The course is 36 weeks long. That’s a lot of stuff to learn and knowing me it will be a vertical learning curve.
Ok I am cheating a little I do know some stuff like how to list something on E bay and how to … sorry it’s now becoming boring. Suffice to say I know a lot about many things but not enough to make a living on the net.
Most days of the week I shall be reporting on how I am getting on. I hope to make it interesting for you dear reader as I tell you what I can now do that I couldn’t do before. Also the very im-portant part, am I making money?
